This island country is a city-state in Southeast Asia, off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. Straits of Johor in the north separate Singapore from Malaysia, while the Singapore Strait in the south separates it from Indonesia's Riau Islands. Singapore ranks as the world's fourth leading financial centre and its port is one of the five busiest ports in the world. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit, Singapore has the best quality of life in Asia and eleventh in the world.

Climate/Weather: The main variable of Singapores climate is not temperature or air pressure, but rainfall. The area's relative humidity is quite high, and ranges between 70 and 90 percent, the high humidity can make it quite uncomfortable.

This national park in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Singapore is a welcome retreat for visitors and locals alike. Thian Hock Keng
Thian Hock Keng

Thian Hock Keng is one of the oldest and most important Hokkien temple in Singapore. It was visited by Chinese immigrants giving thanks to Ma Zu (Goddess of the Sea) for their safe voyage. In 1839, under the leadership of Mr Tan Tock Seng and Mr Si Hoo Keh, the Hokkien clan built the temple in Telok Ayer Street. The temple was built in traditional southern Chinese architectural style. The entire structure was assembled without nails. It is an architectual masterpiece of stone, tiles and wood, dragons and phoenixes, amazing carvings, intricate sculptures and imposing columns.
